Gaia Earth Goddess by Rosemary Legat

Features

ARTIST NOTES: Gaia Earth Goddess by Rosemary Legat - Acyrlic paint and watercolour pastel on stretched canvas. Gaia developed intuitively over many layers of painting, marking and stencilling. My female form was created using one of my gestural life drawing sketches for inspiration. This surreal creation was softened in her final layers, creating a rather dreamy, ethereal look and feel. You may ask what does Gaia stand for? In Greek mythology, Gaia, known as the mother goddess, was the personification of the Earth. Gaia Earth Goddess is Initialled on the front, signed on the back and accompanied by a letter of authenticity. She was finished off with fixative spray then varnish for protection. Canvas sides painted white. If you decide to procure this delightful artwork you can have piece of mind that she will be securely and professionally packaged and transported. Note: Please check artwork dimensions as in situ examples are for display purposes only and may not be to scale.

ARTIST BIO

Rosemary’s artistic journey is a delightful adventure that showcases the power of creativity. From a young age, she found joy in artistic pursuits, but it wasn’t until her retirement, amid the quiet of countless covid lockdowns, that she truly reconnected with her passion for art.

With an eclectic style that celebrates whimsy, Rosemary’s paintings are a vibrant reflection of her playful spirit. Rather than sticking to a rigid plan, she lets her creativity flow, allowing each piece to reveal itself organically. As she layers colors and textures, her work takes on a life of its own, resulting in captivating pieces that invite viewers into her imaginative world.
Originally working solely with acrylics on canvas, Rosemary has since embraced an exciting variety of materials. Now, her mixed media artworks bring together paint, ink, soft pastels, oil sticks, and collage, transforming her creations into multidimensional expressions of her vision.
At the heart of Rosemary’s art is a simple yet powerful motivation: it makes her happy! The joy she feels while painting shines through in every piece she creates, and sharing that joy with others has ignited her passion even further. With numerous pieces sold and a growing audience, Rosemary is driven to continue creating and sharing her artwork, ensuring that her vibrant imagination remains a central part of her life for years to come.
